Job Summary:
The Orthopedic Clinic Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training services to patients within an orthopedic clinic setting. The primary focus of this role is to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries and conditions. The incumbent will work closely with orthopedic physicians and other medical professionals to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients' athletic injuries and conditions.
2. Develop individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation programs based on patient needs and goals.
3. Administer therapeutic interventions, including but not limited to therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities.
4. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
5. Collaborate with orthopedic physicians and other medical professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
6. Educate patients on injury prevention strategies, proper techniques, and exercises to enhance recovery and performance.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
8. Assist physicians in the provision of orthopedic procedures, such as casting, bracing, and wound care.
9. Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare providers, athletic trainers, coaches, and support staff to facilitate patient care.
10. Stay current with advances in athletic training techniques, research, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
2. Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential from the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
3. State licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
